BREAKING NEWS! THE BACCHANAL APPROACHES!

The Bacchanal, Pennsic’s most Magical, Opulent Fete, is coming! Want to attend but don’t have time to stand in line for a coin? Want to be sure you and all your friends can get in? Want to support our work in pursuit of The Dream, our salons, classes, and hospitality?

We use Patreon to collect donations that go exclusively to support KWC activities, particularly Courtesan College and the Knowne World Courtesans’ Bacchanal at Pennsic. Last year, we added gifts to all our membership tiers and a special gift for our members who stay with us for 3 months: You will receive an invitation to an exclusive tea that takes place at Pennsic, Sunday, Aug, at 4 pm, beginning 1 hour before the Bacchanal coin giveaway, essentially putting you 1st in line for coins.

Every 3 months at the $10 tier allows a single person to attend. After 6 months at the $10 tier, you get a second invite. If you donate $20 for 3 months, you get two invites, and after 6 months, another two. The $50 tier gets five people invites after 3 months, and five more after 6 months, etc.

All qualified patrons will be notified through Patreon. We request an RSVP for the tea party through Patreon Messaging. If you can’t make the tea party, no worries. Let us know through Patreon messaging, and we will work with you.

Event Info

The Festival of Floralia is upon us! The Knowne World Courtesans call you to a celebration of all things Roman in the Known World! To gain entry, dress to impress in your finest 1st c. Roman garb. We will delight your senses with amphorae of wine, delicacies fit for the Emperor, contests of strength, beauties abundant, and bounteous sensory delights. All in celebration of Summer!

Where: Courtesan Camp and Strawberry Fields (block B03)
When: Monday, August 3rd at 9pm

Requirements:
*18+ (no entry without your physical ID!)
**Early Imperial Roman dress (no pants, no Celtic garb, no plaid, no Minoan, no glowing accessories or other intrusive modernity – thank you for helping us create a transportive atmosphere!)
*a coin (Free!) – there are only 400 available so get them while they last!
*absolutely no phone or camera use permitted inside the camp (we will have a designated photo area outside)
*no smoking or vaping inside the camp

To receive a coin:
Once again Medieval Medallions has crafted gorgeous reproduction brothel coins for our guests. Join us at 5p.m. on Sunday, August 2nd at the gate to Courtesan Camp (block B03) to claim yours. Look for the red and gold tent with the red and gold hart pennants flying above. We will hand out one coin per adult in the queue. Please plan accordingly and send a representative for yourself if necessary. Out of respect for your fellow Scadians, please do not “hold” spots in line for latecomers. Coins are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

POTENTIAL VOLUNTEERS- Want a guaranteed entrance into the Bacchanal for you and a friend? Help us make the magic! We need people for all kinds of jobs related to the Bacchanal, Courtesan College, and camp set up and tear down. Please message @Ziek on Discord with your SCA Name and your desire to join the Bacchanal’s Volunteer Discord Server. Each volunteer will receive 2 tokens, 1 for you and one for a guest. Volunteers for the Bacchanal specifically MUST attend the meeting on Sunday 5pm, to get your tokens.

Coins will be collected at the gate and replaced with a wrist stamp. The opportunity to purchase a coin to retain as a keepsake will be available starting Tuesday, August 4th at Courtesan Camp for $10 apiece. This is to help us recoup some of the costs of the party and ensure that we’re able to continue to host it each year!
